eVACS® was used at the 15th Annual Conference of the Association of Central and Eastern European Election Officials (ACEEEO) to conduct two elections for ’Best Captain’ and ‘Best Player’ from the Quarter Finalist teams in the 2006 Soccer World Cup. The voting and counting modules of eVACS® were used to conduct the elections.
Best Captain Election Results
For the ‘Best Captain’, attendees voted for one of the eight Captains using a first-past-the–post or plurality election system.
Zinedine Zidane, France’s Captain, was voted the ‘Best Captain’.

The ‘Best Player’ was selected using a preferential or majority election system in which voters indicated their preference for each of the candidates for best player.
Marco Materrzi from Italy was voted the ‘Best Player’.
